The Tsunami disaster caused major damage to Beruwala, forcing thousands of people to relocate due to over 2000 homes being damaged or destroyed. Now with the re-building process there has been a detrimental effect on the governments economy, so RITA ask you to help by raising funds needed for the assistance with rebuilding and re-housing.
Tourism
Despite the fact that Sri Lanka was devastated by the Tsunami, the country has still retained its beautiful scenery and tropical climate, and remains a popular holiday destination. Tourism is one of the main sources of income in Beruwala, along with fishing, agriculture and services, so by simply visiting the country you would be contributing in an enormous way.
