About RITA
The Reading Initiative for Tsunami Action (RITA) is a network compromising many organisations and individuals including Reading based institutions, non-governmental organisations, firms, schools, local and national politicians, Reading Borough Council and Reading International Solidarity Centre.
RITA was set-up after the Tsunami disaster in late December of 2004; which struck off the coast of Sumatra and spread as far as Indonesia, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Somalia; to help with the rebuilding processes in Beruwala, Sri Lanka.
